The Art of the Chapbook
With Deborah Maris Lader and Evan Silver
June 14 - 16, 2024
THE ART OF THE CHAPBOOK
A workshop in printmaking and the written word
From the development of original poems, stories, and songs to the implementation of innovative printmaking techniques, interdisciplinary mother-and-son artist duo Deborah Maris Lader and Evan Silver will guide participants in the creation of easy-to-construct chapbooks, enhanced by beautiful hand made prints and the written word. Set in the gorgeous natural landscape of Teravana in Sonoma County, California, this workshop is suitable for writers, artists, and humans of all levels and disciplines.
Basking in the natural beauty of Teravana as inspiration, Deborah and Evan will jumpstart the creativity of participants with hands-on writing exercises and sustainable printmaking methods using upcycled Tetrapak material to create etchings and monoprints on paper. The combination of these activities will culminate in a series of fun chapbooks and zines that act like idea capsules for future creative pursuits.
